Abstract
A gob can be defined as a “mass” or a “lump.” In the case of gob preforms the term is appropriate. The shape of a gob is difficult to describe and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. A gob preform is a precisely controlled volume of glass manufactured specifically for PGM; it has precise volume control and good surface quality.
