Chapter 8:
Basic Principles of Discrete Representation of Signal Transformations
Abstract
Digital signal processing always deals with processing analog (continuous) signals. For processing in digital processors, analog signals are first converted into a discrete form, which most frequently is implemented by means of signal sampling. The obtained discrete signals are then processed by computers or specialized digital processors.
