Abstract
Communication. In a laser lab, nothing is more important than communication between staff. This includes present and absent staff, meaning writing changes down in a research log so that those coming in later are not surprised by changes to the system or do not inadvertently damage equipment. You should inform all in the lab about what type of activities you will be engaged in and any precautions they may need to take. This would cover removal of barriers, need for protective eyewear, venting a chamber, using cryogens, etc.
