This Is a compendium of the series of reference articles entitled Laser Scanning Notebook, initiated in the March 1991 Issue of SPIE's OE Reports. It has been assembled In response to requests received during the almost two-year publication period of these 20 articles. They form a cohesive base to the technology, extensively referenced for further pursuit of the variety of associated topics. The "notebook" format Is retained, providing for three-ring binding and the addition of any related literature and new issues in OE Reports.
Laser Scanning Notebook ls an outgrowth of research, lecture notes, publication and consultative service conducted by the author over an approximately 30-year period. Highly compacted, It merits prerequisite orientation to fundamentals In optics, electronics,
mechanics, and physics. Referenced earlier works provide more detailed development of the equations and concepts. I would llke to extend thanks to the referenced sources for their valued documentations.
