Chapter 3:
Adaptive Optics Systems and Some Cool Things About Light Beams
Abstract
Beams of light have intensity and phase. The atmosphere slows down one beam with respect to another beam and they interfere with each other, blurring the image. An adaptive optics system consists of a wavefront sensor, a reconstructor, and a deformable mirror, all working together.
