Abstract
The important parameters of the raw material are stated in the item’s drawing or in the raw material specification. The parameters depend on the engineering and functional needs, and the result is the proper material needed for production. The parameters may be determined by the customer or by the producer and depends on the kind of item that should be used (BTP, BTS, or shelf items). The provided tests and inspections come from the stated requirements and depend on the location of the inspection (either the producer’s or the customer’s plant), the source of the material (known producer/supplier or a new one), inspection/test tools availability, and the kind of material (visible or opaque).
