Abstract
Most optical systems (besides the elements described in earlier chapters) consist of mechanical and electronic components and various software (Fig. 20.1). For each system, special requirements are defined in the relevant specifications. These requirements refer to the final performance of the optical system and the need to establish special testing equipment developed and designed by opto-mechanical, electronic, hardware, and software engineers. The system tests are performed during and at the end of production by specialized inspectors. This chapter provides basic information about some parameters of optical systems that may be required as a part of the final optical tests.
