Reflection from a Single Boundary

Abstract
A reflecting surface hit by a particle reverses the component of the particle momentum, which is perpendicular to the surface. Particles above a critical momentum are not reflected, but enter the bulk of the material. For photons the reflection is described by Fresnel's formulas.
