Optothermal, optoacoustic, and acousto-optical interactions, as well as sonoluminescence, in strongly scattering tissues are described, including their primary mechanisms. The chapter presents optothermal (photothermal) and discussion of optoacoustic (photoacoustic) techniques. The basics and applications of optothermal and optoacoustic spectroscopies, tomography, and microscopy are described. Prospective applications and measuring techniques are discussed.
