Chapter 7: Fresnel Diffraction by a Slit between Perfectly Conducting Half-Planes
In this final chapter on the Sommerfeld method, a representation of a radiation source defined on a space bounded by two branch lines is derived. This derivation permits the analysis of Fresnel diffraction by a slit between perfectly conducting half-planes.
The suitability of two coordinate systems that describe spaces bounded by two branch lines is investigated. Only one of these permits the use of Sommerfeld’s method.
