Random Non-uniform Media and Fields
Abstract
Conventional optical diagnostics deals with the interaction between optical radiation and deterministic objects and media and is related to the theory of diffraction, optical image formation, etc. In this situation, both the objects and the optical processes involved may be described using specific analytical functions. However, any real technical problem in optics involves some elements of indeterminacy that call for statistical analysis. Moreover, many natural and biological objects and media undergo random changes in time and space.
