Extracting Dynamic Phase from a Sequence of Fringe Patterns
In previous chapters, fringe patterns T1−T4 are analyzed and used to measure the phase distribution at a certain time instance t. In this chapter, we learn to extract dynamic phase from a sequence of fringe patterns that are recorded in a time interval [tbegin,tend] in order to better understand the dynamic behaviors of a phenomenon. There are many dynamic phase extraction methods in the related literature, most of which are straightforward extensions of the existing static methods and will be briefly introduced. A least squares method that utilizes the spatiotemporal coherence between two fringe patterns at two time instances will be discussed in detail, followed by error analysis, and experimental demonstrations.
