A thin lens model is the simplest way to describe the refractive properties of a lens in geometric optics or Fourier optics. In this model, only paraxial rays are considered, and the thickness d of the lens is assumed to be thin compared to the focal length f of the lens d ≪ f.
The human visual system is a part of the central nervous system and can process image information perceived by the human eyes. Understanding the characteristics of the human visual system is an important criterion to determine the specifications of display devices. The human visual system can perceive color, spatial resolution, depth, and time resolution. These perceivable features of the human visual system can be regarded as references in the effort to improve the quality of display devices.
