MQS Modeling and Fundamental Sensitivities
Author Affiliations +
Abstract
This chapter extends the discussion in Chapter 2 and focuses on the effects that MQS fundamentals produce in scenarios that may be of interest in UXO discrimination. Topics include object aspect ratio, orientation, and heterogeneity effects, as well as interaction between objects and parts of objects. The most basic modeling is also examined more closely. Without proceeding immediately to the modeling strategies ultimately implemented in discrimination processing, this chapter examines the development of crucial distinguishing patterns of response and of the means for expressing them.
