Abstract
Recognition is the core of machine vision. Algorithms are used to determine the identity of objects and regions that are segmented from scenes. The discussion of mensuration in Section 5.3 was a prelude ot object recognition and it explained how measures could be used to discriminate between objects in a scene. In some sense mensuration belongs with recognition, but in this chapter we will explore the more advanced concepts of representation and feature analysis.
