Abstract

Displays are devices used for delivery of information, and as such have been used since ancient ages. Over time, display devices have been used more and more in human communication activities. However, it was not until the twentieth century that display devices capable of delivering high-information content became a necessity as well as a reality for many applications. In this book, we describe the pertinent device technologies and the image quality characteristics of displays used in, or directed at, medical imaging applications.
