How can I purchase access to content on the SPIE Digital Library?
You will need a personal account to purchase access to content (journal articles or conference proceedings) on the SPIE Digital Library. After creating an account or signing in with an existing account, click "Download PDF" for a paper, or "Watch Presentation" for a recorded presentation, then "Add to Cart," then follow the instructions. You will see a choice to either purchase access to the single item or to purchase an individual subscription that allows you to access multiple items with download tokens.
After completing the purchase, you will be able to access the item while you are signed in to the SPIE Digital Library. You will have online access for twelve months.
To easily access the item again, you will find it listed on the page at My Account > Subscriptions & Downloads.
How can I purchase access to a recorded Conference Presentation?
You will need a personal account to purchase access to a recorded conference presentation on the SPIE Digital Library. After creating an account or signing in with an existing account, click the lock image over the embedded video player, then "Add to Cart," then follow the instructions. You will see a choice to either purchase access to the single recorded conference presentation or to purchase an individual subscription that allows you to access multiple papers and/or recorded conference presentations.
After completing the purchase, you will be able to play the recorded conference presentation while signed in to the SPIE Digital Library. You will have online access to the conference presentation for 12 months. To easily access the presentation again, you will find it listed on the page at My Account > Subscriptions & Downloads.
Note that your purchase only allows you to stream the presentation within an internet browser; the presentation files cannot be downloaded and saved locally.
How can I purchase access to an entire a volume of proceedings?
Only registered attendees of SPIE's technical conferences, and registered exhibitors at that event, may purchase online access to an entire volume of a conference's proceedings. These individuals typically select the desired volume(s) as a part of their conference registration, or they can alternatively purchase access to the volume(s) after the conference by contacting customerservice@spie.org.
For individuals other than registered attendees or exhibitors, we recommend establishing an individual subscription to the SPIE Digital Library, which then allows the users to access as many papers/presentations from the volume as desired. Another alternative is to purchase printed collections of proceedings, which are available on proceedings.com.
How can I purchase an SPIE eBook or print book?
Only users from subscribing institutions can access ebooks on the SPIE Digital Library platform. Individuals who are not affiliated with subscribing institutions may instead purchase ebooks and print books on spie.org; click any book title to select among the available electronic and print formats.
