Abstract

This erratum corrects two errors in the original paper.

This article [J. Biomed. Opt. 21(7), 071109 (2016)] was originally published online on 1 March 2016 with two errors, described below.

On p. 3, there is an error in a value in the Mueller matrix. In column 2, row 2, 0.100 has been changed to 1.000 as shown:

[\begin{matrix} 0.997 & - 0.000 & 0.001 & - 0.005 \\ 0.004 & 1.000 & 0.010 & - 0.001 \\ - 0.001 & 0.004 & 0.991 & 0.002 \\ 0.001 & - 0.002 & 0.009 & 0.999 \end{matrix}]

In addition, Fig. 1 showed an extra component, the quarter-wavelength plate (QWP), which has been removed from the diagram.
