Abstract
The purpose of this letter is to point out a disagreement with a recent paper 1 on the above subject. For an opaque rectangular object having a width 2a and a height 2b with its sides located parallel to the axes (Fig. 1), the intensity distribution in the (x , y) plane is given by the following expression:
