Abstract
We describe the acquisition, reduction, and analysis of long slit spectra of active and normal galaxies using the Steward Observatory Texas Instruments TI 3PCCD system on the University of Arizona Observatory 2.3 m telescope. We also present fully reduced data for one Seyfert and one normal galaxy to illustrate the scientific motivations for using such a detector system.
