A novel holographic associative memory that is able to identify individual words and insert word breaks into a concatenated word string is described. The system is shift invariant and has error correction capability. Experimental results obtained from the real-time system are demonstrated. A theoretical analysis of the system is presented, and practical limitations are discussed.
