1 September 1994 Power dissipation in electromechanical actuator devices

Abstract
The major contributors to the dissipation of power by an electromechanical actuator used in a deformable mirror or an active structure are identified. The magnitudes of these power losses for a single actuator are estimated for both single-frequency and random operation of the actuator.
