Abstract
The Raman spectra of native lysozyme in aqueous solution and of lysozyme extracted by nitrobenzene have been obtained. The main- and side-chain conformation, relative change of intensities, and other properties of the lysozyme were studied. After nitrobenzene treatment, the various characteristic bands of the protein's main conformation appeared almost entirely at the original positions, indicating that there is no influence on the secondary-structure analysis of the protein.
