1 November 1995 Optical double-loop fiber resonator with two identical or nonidentical 2x2 fiber couplers

Abstract
The first experimental demonstration of a single-mode optical fiber double-loop resonator with approximately equal recirculating loop lengths and two identical or nonidentical 2 x 2 fiber couplers is presented. The theory of the double-loop resonator with nonidentical 2 x 2 fiber couplers is developed as well. The dependence of the output intensity on the intensity coupling coefficients of the 2 x 2 fiber couplers is investigated. It is found that the experimental and theoretical results are in fairly good agreement.
