Abstract
A novel image restoration method using the modified evolution strategy (MES) is presented. Three main improvements consist of coordinate descending mutation, a ‘‘survival of the fittest’’ selection rule, and hybrid evolution strategies. Theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
