Abstract
We propose the implementation of normalized correlation in the space domain to achieve real-time discrimination. Two new joint transform correlator configurations are proposed for this purpose. Compared to the filter normalization method, the proposed schemes are more suitable for real-time processing and are robust in terms of system alignment. Computer simulation results are given.
