1 April 2003 Collimation tesing using photorefractive crystal and temporal coherence
Author Affiliations +
We report a new method to test the collimation of a laser beam using the diffraction efficiency of photorefractive Bi12TiO20 (bismuth titanium oxide) crystal and the temporal coherence of laser beam in a two-wave mixing geometry. The accuracy of the technique is comparable with that of the established Murty shear interferometric technique and can be improved considerably. Detailed experimental and theoretical analyses are presented.
