Abstract
We present a concise and simple account of image formation in digital holography. Imaging in different recording and reconstruction configurations is considered from the point of view of specifying the impulse response of these configurations. Methods for recording large-size objects are briefly reviewed, followed by a brief discussion on the use of digital holography in interferometric measurements.
