Transforming polarization states of light from one to another in a controlled manner can be achieved with a minimal gadget consisting of two-quarter waveplates. Using a geometric approach, we demonstrate this result for transforming any completely polarized states of light (CPSL) to any other CPSL, including the orthogonal states. Furthermore, we describe a working algorithm for identifying the fast axis setting of the two-quarter waveplates essential for the state transformation.
