Abstract

This paper describes the uses of orthophotography, discusses the factors influencing accuracy and resolution, and gives technical comparisons of optical and electronic methods of generating orthophotos. It also includes a comparison of on-line and off-line approaches to orthophoto generation, and a description of techniques for simultaneous contour generation. The paper concludes with a discussion of future possibilities in the field of orthophoto generation.
