The observation of a whole space on a 360° angle, as well as the reconstruction of a 3D scene, presumed unknown, presents to us an unquestionable interest in the field of robotics vision. The object of this paper is to describe a panoramic stereovision sensor dedicated to distance estimation and 3D scene reconstruction whose concept simplifies calibration and feature matching. The advantages of the device are numerous and allow us to consider omnidirectional robotics vision under new realistic and robust conditions.
