Abstract

In my editorial that appeared in the November/December 1985 issue of Optical Engineering, I indicated that a number of changes were in store for the journal in 1986. Most of those changes have now been implemented, the most significant of which is the increase of the publication frequency from bi-monthly to monthly. I believe that SPIE took a major step forward when the Society's Board of Governors authorized this change.
