1 November 1994 Rayleigh versus Maréchal spherical aberration tolerance in in-line Fraunhofer holography

Abstract
Rayleigh's quarter wavelength rule and Maréchal's condition are used to establish allowable spherical aberration in in-line Fraunhofer holography with collimated beams. Allowable minimum object diameter by both these approaches is described and compared.
