1 October 1998All-optical programmable switch with XOR gate functions in a doped silica thin film
We demonstrate an all-optical programmable switch that can simulate the function of an XOR logic gate. This gate consists of a doped silica planar waveguide, a laser, and the means to couple two fundamental-frequency waves into different waveguiding modes, along with a second-harmonic wave coupled into one guiding mode. The measured SNR is 5.5 dB.
