A J Eldorado Riggs is an optical engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He received his PhD in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University in 2016, and his bachelor's degree in physics and mechanical engineering from Yale University in 2011. His research interests include wavefront estimation and control, deformable mirrors, and coronagraph design for exoplanet imaging. He currently works on coronagraph design and coronagraphic wavefront correction for the WFIRST Coronagraph Instrument.
