The main research activity I´m currently working on is with diode pumped solid state lasers design and gain optimization by transversal and longitudinal electromagnetic mode controlling, and I have prior experience in developing lamp pumped solid state lasers as well as data modeling and computer simulation of lasers resonators. I have worked with different hosts, pumping systems, wavelengths and dopant ions for solid-state laser active medium, such as Nd:YLF (emitting at 1047 and 1053 nm), Nd:YAG (emitting at 1064, 1319 and 1338 nm) and Er:YLF (2800 nm) operating in different regimes (cw, qcw and Q-Switched). I also work with light interaction with bio-tissues including its optical characterization, emphasizing bio-structure assessment by coherent light scattering patters imaging. I’m currently advising master and PhD students in photonics and biophotonics.
