Graduate Student
Profile Summary

I am currently a junior in the Optical Sciences and Engineering program at the University of Arizona. My academic goals are to pursue a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences. I aspire to help minority populations move up in the socioeconomic strata by actively participating in community education programs. I have volunteered in many events that increase interest in STEM. My short term career goals are to facilitate in the technological development of deep space optical communications to enable greater data rates with “unrestricted” bandwidth. My long range professional goals are to further the development of experimental laser applications, laser systems for space exploration, and research how laser beams interact with matter and plasma. The work completed toward my long term goals would contribute to the design, advancement, and implementation of high-powered laser inertial confinement fusion energy in optical fusion rockets for human travel to Mars. Lastly, I aspire to become a strong candidate for NASA’s astronaut program.
