My research interests lie within the sphere of the study of various dopants for active optical fibers on a silica basis and the development of fiber preforms fabrication process. I am in charge of selecting initial materials and reagents for manufacturing silica preforms of active optical fibers by using the method of impregnation of porous layer and by using the gas phase deposition technique as well (in my work I use the widely known MCVD method and facility). And my expertise is within practice of silica glass matrices for active optical fibers. I prefer solving problems of fabricating silica preforms with special dopants (rear-earth ions and some other impurities), producing silica-based preforms for the creation of optical lasers and amplifiers, obtaining demand characteristics of active fibers and investigating what should be done to improve the technological parameters and which reagents and substances should be used to achieve them.
