Prof. Andy Ying-Guey Fuh received his PhD degree from the University of Toronto in 1984. Since then, he had been with the National Chiao-Tung University (Taiwan) as an associate Prof., Ontario Resaech Foundation as a scientist, National Sun Yat-Sen University as a full prof. In 1992, he joined the Physics Department, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) as a full prof. Now, he is a University Distinguished Professor of Physics (since 2000), and Dean of Science (2007-present).
Prof. Fuh is a member of SPIE (Fellow), OSA (regular), SID (regular), International Liquid Crystal Society (regular), and Physics Society of the Republic of China (Taiwan) (permanent). Additionally, Prof. Fuh has been serving as the Councilor/Supervisor of the Societies of Taiwan Optical Engineering, SID, Liquid Crystal (since Jan., 2010, he has become the Chairman of the board), and Physics Societies of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for more than 6 years. Also, he is an Advisory Board member, Nature Publishing Group-Asia Materials (Journal). His expertise is in optoelectronics/optics of liquid crystals, laser technology. He has published more than 130 papers in SCI journals, 21 paper in EI, and more than 100 conference papers.
