Profile Summary

Antoni Rogalski is a professor at the Institute of Applied Physics, Military University of Technology in Warsaw, Poland. During the course of his scientific career, he has made pioneering contributions in the areas of theory, design, and technology of different types of IR detectors. In 1997, he received an award from the Foundation for Polish Science (the most prestigious scientific award in Poland) for achievements in the study of ternary alloy systems for infrared detectors – mainly an alternative to HgCdTe new ternary alloy detectors such as lead salts, InAsSb, HgZnTe, and HgMnTe. His monograph "Infrared Detectors" (published by Taylor and Francis in 2011) was translated on Russian and Chinese languages. Another monograph entitles "High-Operating Temperature Infrared Photodetectors" (edited by SPIE Press, 2007) which he is the co-author, summarizes the globally unique Polish scientific and manufacturing achievements in the field of near room temperature long wavelength IR detectors. Recently published monograph "Antimonide-based Infrared Detectors: A New Perspective (April 2018) describes current concepts of antimonide-based infrared detectors, focusing on designs having the largest impact on the mainstream of infrared detector technologies - as a possible alternative to HgCdTe material systems.
He was elected as a corresponding member (2004) and next as an ordinary member (2013) of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In June 2015 was appointed as a dean of Division IV Polish Academy of Sciences: Engineering Sciences.
Professor Rogalski has given above 70 invited plenary talks (keynote speech) at international conferences. He is author and co-author of about 280 indexed papers, cited ca. from 6300 to 12000 with h-index from 35 to 48 in dependence on scientific base (Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar), 13 books (7 books was published by SPIE Publisher), and 37 monographic papers (book chapters in handbooks and encyclopedias).
