SC508: VCSEL and Applications
In this course, basic device physics, design principles, recent advances and system performance of vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) will be reviewed. Recent progress on long wavelength VCSELs will be reviewed. VCSEL applications in local area networks (LAN), storage area networks (SAN) and metropolitan area networks (MAN) will be discussed.
