Profile Summary

Dr. Angeli is the Systems Engineering Manager for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). The Systems Engineering Manager is the chief technical leader of the project. His responsibilities span the entire project, including all the major subsystems (telescope, camera, and data management) and the whole life cycle of the project from the onset of construction to commissioning and hand-over to operations. Before joining LSST, he was Head of Systems Engineering for the Thirty Meter Telescope Project. Formerly he led AURA’s integrated structural, optical and control modeling team supporting the development of a 30-meter class ground based optical telescope concept. Before that he was project manager of a team developing real time, phase shifting interferometers at WYKO. During his professional career he led the design or contributed to the development of numerous optical and electronic instruments.
