Profile Summary

Hao Zhang received his B.Sc. degree from Tianjin University, China, in 2020. He received his MAS.c degree at the University of Victoria, Canada. He was a visiting student at the University of British Columbia (2020-2022). He received the Canada NSERC CREATE scholarship (2021-2023), and the University of Victoria Graduate Award (2021). From 2018 to 2020, he was with Tianjin University, where he was involved with RF and microwave engineering (supervised by Prof. Kaixue Ma). Since September 2020, his research focuses on nonlinear optics and applying plasmon-enhanced optical trapping using double nanohole structures to trap and study single/fused nanoparticles (supervised by Prof. Reuven Gordon). Currently, he is a Ph.D. student (supervised by Prof. Sergio Carbajo) at the University of California, Los Angles, and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. He is interested in quantum electrodynamics, nonlinear optics, and quantum computing.
