Course Instructor
SC614: Simulation of Ultrasound Systems using Field II
Field II is a program for simulating all types of linear medical ultrasound systems. The program can be used for simulating single element and array transducers (1D and 2D) using any kind of excitation, focusing, and apodization using spatial impulse responses. The course will give a description of the theory behind the program and its use. This will include calculation of point spread functions, simulation of B-mode images, and simple flow simulation. The lectures will be inter-spaced with 1 hour exercises on the participants own portable PCs. The participant should therefore bring a portable PC, which has Matlab 6.0 or higher on it, and install the latest version of Field II found at http://www.es.oersted.dtu.dk/staff/jaj/field/ .
