Dr. Kari V. Vienola
Postdoctoral Associate at University of Pittsburgh
Area of Expertise:
Ophthalmic Imaging , Active motion compensation , Biomedical optics , Eye tracking , Optical coherence tomography , Physics
Profile Summary

Graduated as MSc. in physics from University of Turku 2011 where I focused on (bio-)medical imaging. Currently I am a 2nd year graduate student at Rotterdam Ophthalmic Institute where my research is focused on developing new techniques to compensate eye motion during ophthalmic imaging, mainly OCT.

I am specially interested in active eye motion compensation which allows ophthalmic imaging even if the acquisition time is several seconds. Also measurements can be taken from the same location accurately which allows precise longitudinal measurements. Furthermore, an accurate eye tracking mechanism allows researcher to study eye motions with high accuracy.
