Leonardo Daniele Scintilla holds a PhD in Advanced Manufacturing Systems from Politecnico di Bari, Italy, focusing his research activity on inert gas fusion cutting with disk and fiber lasers. Since 2011, he is a research fellow at the Department of Mechanics, Mathematics and Management (DMMM) of Politecnico di Bari. His present research is focused on laser cutting processes with high brightness laser sources, thick section laser cutting of steels, laser cutting and welding of lightweight alloys and mechanical and technological characterization with digital image correlation techniques.
