Marco Tausendfreund studied at the Technical University Aachen (RWTH) and the University of California Davis. He received his degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2000. After R&D positions in the German Aerospace Industry, he joined the former Carl Zeiss Optronics (now Cassidian Optronics) in 2003 in the department of Aerospace Optics and Optical Communication. As project manager Marco Tausendfreund was i.a. responsible for the development of an optical reconnaissance system for the French Air Force and for the optical subsystems of Lasercommunication terminals in space. In his position as product manager Marco Tausendfreund follows now also all activities of Cassidian Optronics in their own Lasercommunication
systems for terrestrial applications.
