During the last several years researches have been carried out in order to study the possibility of autofluorescence diagnostics application in dentistry for caries and different periodontium tissues diseases diagnostics. We carried out the research of periodontium tissues autofluorescence images and spectra to develop the method of autofluorescence diagnostics of premorbid conditions of inflammatory periodontium tissues diseases.
During the last several years research activities have been carried out to study the fluorescent images of hard tooth tissues and demineralization enamel nidus. Also it is well known about availability of photodynamic therapy (PDT) for pathogenic microflora suppression, which presence leads to different parodontium diseases. Our laboratory carried out research of fluorescent images and spectra of different parodontium tissues in order to develop the method of fluorescent diagnostics (PD) of tissue inflammatory disease according to autofluorescence intensity in pathologic and normal tissues.
During the last several years research activities have been conducted to study PDT availability in stomatology for pathogenic microflora suppression, which presence causes different kinds of oral cavity inflammatory disease. Studies indicate that PDT can be alternative to traditional antibiotic therapy. We carried out research in order to determine the optimal method of tooth irradiation to provide necessary therapeutic radiation dose for affected parodontium tissue in case of inflammatory disease. These data can be used for fiber-optic catheter positioning for further influence on oral cavity nidus of inflammation during PDT and PD. 20 teeth ex vivo were examined. Teeth were irradiated with diode laser (680 nm). In different teeth regions laser radiation intensity was measured by LESA-01-Biospec spectrometer. Optimal radiation method for PDT and PD was found.
