Pankaj K. Choudhury received a Ph.D. degree in Physics in 1992. He held academic positions in India, Canada, Japan, and Malaysia. During 2003-2009, he was a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University (Cyberjaya, Malaysia). Thereafter, he became professor at the Institute of Microengineering & Nanoelectronics, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Malaysia). Also, he served the Telekom Research and Development (Malaysia) as a consultant for projects on photonics. His research interests lie in the theory of optical waveguides, complex mediums, fiber optic devices, optical sensors and metamaterials. He has published over 250 research papers, contributed chapters to 17 books, and edited and co-edited 07 research level books. He is the reviewer for over three dozen research journals, Section Editor of Optik (Elsevier, The Netherlands) and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications (Taylor & Francis, UK). He is Senior Member of IEEE, OSA and SPIE.
