Profile Summary

Dr Qin Chen is currently a Full Professor in Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech & Nano-Bionics (SINANO), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He investigated optical microcavities and microlasers for his PhD and graduated in 2006 from Institute of Semiconductors, CAS. Since 2007, he had worked at University of Bath and University of Glasgow in UK as a postdoc in nanoimprint technique and nanoplasmonics, respectively. In 2012, he joined SINANO leading the nanophotonic device group. His research interests include plasmonic optoelectronic devices (photodetector, modulator, solar cell et al), THz plasmonics, graphene plasmonics and integrated optics, etc. Dr Chen has coauthored 50s peer reviewed journal papers and 2 book chapters. He is a member of IOP and OSA. He was awarded the Scottish Crucible Fellowship in UK in 2011 and the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations in China in 2008. Now he is supported by CAS One Hundred Talent Program.
